Carlos F. Mota, age 30, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 20, by state police in the town of Poughkeepsie, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
According to Hicks, around 2:40 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Honda CRV on Page Park Drive in the town of Poughkeepsie for a traffic violation.
An investigation determined Mota was in possession of what was later weighed as approximately 41.8 grams of cocaine.
During the arrest, Mota resisted and attempted to flee on foot as well as destroy the drug evidence.
After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.
Mota was charged with:
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance wit intent to sell
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Criminal use of drug paraphernalia
- Resisting Arrest
Mota was arraigned before the town of Milan Court and released to the supervision of probation.
